A sample of some of the crazy, colorful artwork available for “Dodeska’den” (1970).
“Dodeska’den” (1970) was Kurosawa’s first color film and the first film of the second phase of his career. From 1970 to 1993, Kurosawa directed seven films. From 1943-1965, he directed 23 films. A collapsing Japanese film industry, trouble securing funding, and myriad other problems contributed to the immense decline in output.
